Cusp: Solstice 2012

Everything we need now germinates inside.

Desire pricks like a thorn on grasping hands,

Connecting pain with what we want:

Creating just enough this time, to change

The stories trapped in amber:

Ancient insects, frozen sun.

The darkness unfolds secrets

Creating light invincible.

We can wake up to brilliance,

Giving dawn to this new day.

Somewhere, an elephant teaches calf to swim.

Fern fronds unfurl from ancient forest floor.

Bold violence fells another once again,

And we are left with anger, fear, and grief.

With chance to change or ever stay the same.

The gates of time will open:

Stand attention, time to choose.

The darkness unfolds secrets

Creating light invincible.

We can wake up to brilliance,

Giving dawn to this new day.

Let us seed hope.

Though it’s a Christian reference, one of the most telling moments in ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ is when an anguished Charlie Brown asks what Christmas is all about, and Linus gives a quiet recital of scripture.

It’s about the perspective. It’s about realizing all the noise and the lines and the shouting is what keeps us distracted and fragmented, out-of-touch with self/spirit and god/goddess.

But we keep returning to the distraction, because it’s easier than the reality. It’s become comfortable and familiar, and we sink ever deeper in the quicksand as we thrash around for a hand- or foothold. Even though we know we’re supposed to move slowly and carefully to free ourselves.

A blessed Solstice to you, Thorn.

      Blessings to you, too, Bob.

      I could not agree more.

I feel that this is not the end of times… But a new beginning

I sense that people with different spiritual backgrounds practice similar things: Open up for the energies of the universe, connect with eachother, dance, sing, speak, research,… ground the energy into the earth with the intent for change and healing…

There are Maya-priests, buddisths, sensitive Christians, witches, goddess-worshippers… and many more…

Yesterday a friend from a completely different spritual background told me that there are enough people here on earth in order to help to support the transformation that has to happen…

Yes, we are here, yes, we do our work, yes we contribute …

    Blessed be and happy solstice!
