There is something in you so fine, so beautiful, and so rare. Do you sense it, coiling within you? Can you see it, reflected in your eyes as you look into the mirror upon awakening? It is there. Under the tousled hair, and just above the swollen bags beneath those eyes, there is a glint, a shimmer, a spark.
We need you. We need you to sit and breathe and open to the silence of your soul. We need you to sink into the silence so you may rise into the song. Yes. That song: The song only your soul can sing.
Sshhhh…. Listen.
Can you hear it now?
Nothing can be born without first opening to silence. Sink onto the bench, or the prayer rug. Light the candles on your altar. Settle your attention in your belly. Let the tip of tongue rise up to meet your palate. Close your eyes and breathe.

Finals week has me running around, and my daily practice time this week has become study session time. I’m feeling it. Thanks for this, time to close the books and focus on my Work instead of just work. And ponder your uncanny sense of timing…
Thank you for the reminder.
Like Jesi said, I also ponder your uncanny sense of timing. After 2 clients cancelled on me today, I turned to the Tarot and asked “What’s this really about?”
I got the 9 of Wands. Standard interpretations aside, the message I got was “Take a time out to contemplate the next right step”.
Sitting in silent emptiness was what I needed to do! DONE!!
Then the rain came and cancelled my plan B, finish the stucco work and paint the awnings. OKAY!! I get it! Apparently the 20 minutes I sat in tranquil silence before my “monkey mind” said “GET UP and get something done!” was not enough. LOL
The awnings can wait. I will return to the stillness and sit quietly until the song arises loud enough to dance me back onto the path.
Thanks again and Blessed BE that inner fire!
Thorn, I third the pondering of your uncanny sense of timing.
I am doing work for a job that is very demanding and strenuous, but it is also something I want to master. Each second I do this work, I feel something new is being born.
I also woke up this morning and heard “Rocket Man,” an old song from the 70s by Elton John. It came from a radio or iPod or CD player, etc. someone outside- maybe a construction worker – was playing. It seems to fit.
Thank you for this important reminder.

Your writing is beautiful and went right to the core of me.
